5/4/26: Chicken, Pumpkin, Pluto, and Smokey were found in a ditch.
They all need exams, a full check up, vaccines, testing for parasites and contagious diseases. We have offered to help with the funding and this Wednesday they will begin treatment at Imlay City vet hospital.
5/2/26: Two Heartworm Positive Dogs Get a Fighting Chance
Meet Beefy 🩵 and Nora 🩷
The director of Tuscola County Animal Control reached out to us asking for help for two shelter dogs who tested positive for heartworm disease.
Because of your support, we were able to say yes.
Beefy and Nora are now receiving the treatment they need.
Heartworm treatment is not easy. It’s a very long road, but they now have a real chance at a healthier future.
Thank you to Tyler and the compassionate team at Tuscola County Animal Control for advocating for them, to the doctors and staff at West Flint Animal Hospital for their excellent care, and to all of you who continue to believe in our mission.
5/2/26: Boots was found on the street and he is doing a hard swallow as if something is stuck in his throat.
We have approved him to be checked out at one of our favorite vet hospitals Orion Animal Hospital where they are going to sedate him for exam of his throat. We will update once we know more.
4/27/26: Dulce was found lingering outside of a liquor store in Flint. A good Samaritan, who chose not to look the other way, noticed she was severely underweight with diarrhea matted into her fur.
Dawn was able to safely lure her into her car, bring her home, and reached out to us for help.
We approved an exam and treatment at one of our trusted veterinary partners, West Flint Animal Hospital.
We’ll share updates as soon as we learn more about Dulce’s condition.
Donations have been very slow, and cases like Dulce’s are exactly why we do what we do. If you’re able to contribute toward her care, it would mean so much <3
04/24/26 Update: With corrections due to new information – chip is registered to a compassionate animal lover who 7+ years ago did TNR on Phoebe (a feral cat) and provided a heated shelter, food, and a camera to monitor as she happily lived a life outside.
When she was contacted by the animal hospital she offered to pay for any additional recommended testing, food, meds, etc. The doctor wanted to do one more test and it was covered without hesitation.
Phoebe is allowing Joe to handle her, but that may also be because she is sick. We do know that test results revealed FIV, anemia, very low protein, and elevated pancreatic enzymes. She is on meds and Joe has been caring for her.
I don’t know where her future lies or if she would do well in a home, but in my opinion the outdoor life can be harsh for an older unwell cat like her. Maybe between Joe, Elizabeth, and the shares something can be worked out to see if maybe indoor life is an option.
4/23/26: Phoebe was found in Eastpointe with a severe respiratory infection, bloated belly, and very thin.
Joseph captured her, brought her to the hospital, and paid out of pocket for initial care.
We offered to help cover the extensive lab work testing that was done at her follow appointment a couple days ago. The results should be in today. Apparently, she has a microchip and the owners have been contacted , but they have not reached back out to our knowledge.
I was able to get Joseph some donated blankets and a little bit of donated food. He has her separated from his cats and until he can find a more permanent situation, she is inside a dog crate in his garage, but she is safe with shelter. Her respiratory infection has gotten better and she has put on one pound!
4/17/26 Update: We’re so happy to see him safe with a rescue and on his way to finding a forever home. It was because of our incredible supporters that an extensive portion of his medical care was covered giving him the second chance he deserved.
Thank you for making this outcome possible.
3/13/26: Gandalf Update. I just had to share this sweet boy. He’s got drain tubes in his neck from terribly infected wounds, but his spirit is gentle and grateful. This is why we do what we do.
3/10/26 Update: What we thought was one wound turned out to be much more.
Gandalf was seen over the weekend where he was neutered and treated for a neck wound. When his rescuer picked him up, another wound was discovered — severely infected and needing immediate care.
Thankfully, Centerline Veterinary Hospital stepped up and got him in right away yesterday so he could be placed under anesthesia and have the wound flushed and cleaned.
His medical care has now exceeded $1,000, reminding us that we often don’t know the true extent of injuries until we step in to help.
One of the photos is simply too graphic to share.
The good news is that Gandalf is recovering, and most importantly he will never have to live outside again.
This little guy was given a second chance, and we are grateful to be part of his journey because of the compassion and support of you.
3/4/26: This is Gandalph.
Thank you to All About Animals Rescue for getting this guy in for surgery right away. I will update once we know more.
We were contacted about this handsome guy who needs medical attention. The rescuer also needs assistance with trapping him.
He is located near the Buddhist Temple on 9 Mile Road. Please contact Laura at llang1204@wowway.com if you can assist and we will approve funding for medical to get him help.
It breaks my heart that there are so many like him who are homeless and deserve so much better.
This homeless guy was found injured with severe trauma to his rear leg. We approved his surgery and the amazing team of professionals at Orion Animal Hospital will be providing the necessary care.
Thank you to his rescuer Jamie who cared enough to find him help and our amazing supporters who believe in our mission.
4/14/26: Baby was found in a trailer park in heartbreaking condition. She had green discharge from her vulva, wheezing from an upper respiratory infection, pregnant, anemic and bleeding from her face.
The kind person who found her rushed her to Advanced Animal Emergency, where she received an exam, X-rays, and treatments.
We stepped in to cover the cost of her care so the financial burden wouldn’t stand in the way of giving Baby a chance at a healthier, happier life.
She is now safe with a rescue, where she can continue healing and finally know what it feels like to be cared for.
There are so many cats just like Baby who need help. Please consider donating today so we can continue making a difference—four paws at a time.
4/13/26: We received an email over the weekend about this stray male cat who was found with severely ingrown nails that have grown into his paw pads, causing bleeding and significant pain. We have approved him to be seen at Orion Animal Hospital so he can receive the urgent medical care he needs.
We will share updates on “Michelin” as soon as we learn more about his condition.
4/8/26: Danni was found homeless, and her rescuer reached out to us for help.
Since then, she’s been struggling to breathe and has already been seen at more than one hospital and tried different antibiotics without much improvement.
She’ll be heading to a third hospital for a procedure called a nasal flush, and we’re really hoping it finally gives us some answers and, most importantly, some relief for her.
Please keep Danni in your thoughts and prayers ❤️Gina
