Roxie – Rescued from the Streets

2/28/18 – Roxie was found on the city streets by a kind woman who didn’t turn away. She contacted 313 K9 and Kitty Rescue and they asked if we could help — which we did. Roxy was taken to one of our vets where she was spayed, vaccinated, and tested. She is now doing great in a foster home and looking for her forever family Contact 313 if you are interested. Without your donations, we couldn’t say ‘yes’ to all of these lost and alone animals. 4paws1heart.org ~ dianaroxie 2:17:18 w:313Roxie w:313 2:28:18

Joey, Rachel, Ross, Monica and Phoebe – Puppies Found on the Streets

2/27/18 – Last week I saw this posting about two sets of puppies rescued by 313 K9 and Kitty Rescue. Two are 12 weeks old and the others are 6 weeks old. I contacted the Rescue and offered to pay for them to be seen by a vet and to have the one little guy’s nose examined.

“I don’t even have the words to describe the hurt i feel for these babies that were saved earlier this evening! I want so much to just feed them & give them all the water they can drink, but i know it has to be done slowly. Skin & bones with bloated wormy bellies 🙁 covered in urine & feces. Small abrasions & one looks like his nose may have been broken & healed. They stink like you can’t even imagine. I’m just thankful they’re safe & are now on the greatest journey of their little lives! – Shawn”puppies w:313 2:23:18puppies w:313puppies313-2:23:18

100 Women Who Care Select 4 Paws 1 Heart

4 Paws 1 Heart was honored to have been selected by the members of the “100 Women Who Care – Grosse Pointe Area” for their first quarter charity donation. I am proud to be a member and humbled by their belief in our mission. This is an organization which gives its members a great opportunity to make a quarterly donation to charities who might otherwise go un-noticed in this world of mega charities. If you are interested in becoming a member, your commitment is a meeting 4 times a year and at each meeting you will donate $100 to the charity chosen that evening based on a presentation. Roscoe – Pulled from a Shelter Before Being Euthanized

2/23/18 – Roscoe was rescued from a shelter before being euthanized. Because 4 paws 1 heart was willing to pay for Roscoe’s vetting, he was pulled from the shelter and is now with a rescue looking for his forever home. We are so very thankful to our donors for giving us the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of the abandoned and abused. ~ dianaRoscoe w:sandra abrahamian 2:22:18

Rocco – Found Running the Streets

2/20/18 – Rocco was found running the streets. The rescuer tried finding an owner but no one came forward to claim him. Rocco was taken to the vet where it was found that he was heart worm positive. Although the initial vet care was covered by the rescuer, she could not afford the heart worm treatment and neutering at a later time. We were happy to make it possible for Rocco to have a second chance and live in a loving home. ~ dianarocco w:kathryn lorenz 2:14:18

Dakota – Scheduled to be Euthanized Because He was Heart Worm Positive

2/16/18 – Dakota (on the left) found himself at a local municipal shelter, heart worm positive. As I’ve said many times, municipal shelters are not funded to care for animal’s medical needs, especially something as serious as heart worm. Consequently, Dakota was scheduled to be euthanized. But, before that happened, 313 K9 and Kitty Rescue contacted us to see if we could cover Dakota’s heart worm treatment. If yes, they could pull Dakota. And, because of the generosity of our supporters, the answer was ‘yes’. Dakota started his treatment yesterday. Let’s pray his treatment goes well and he goes on to living a healthy, loved life. ~ dianadakota w:DACC dog with 313dakota--2:15:18

They were both given a second chance thanks to 4 Paws 1 heart paying for their medical care. I fostered both of them as little bitty babies and I watched them grow into strong boys.
This is where your donations go ♡ so thank you so much for all of your support, and thank you for Lisa Madding and Scott Madding for giving these boys the loving home they deserve. ♡ Gina

Pistol Annie (aka Lola) – She Was Found in a Ditch — Broken Jaw and Displaced Hip

2/14/18 – A Happy Valentine Love Story — It was 4 1/2 years ago when I was contacted about this beautiful Border-Collie mix found in a ditch by a police officer and animal control officer. Her jaw was broken in four places and her hip was fractured. Her injuries required more medical care than 4 Paws 1 Heart could afford but because of our friends, we were able to get her help at Oakland Veterinary Referral Services. It was there that Pistol Annie (because she was a fighter), who is now known as Lola, met the love of her life — Traci, a licensed veterinary technician who agreed to foster Annie through her recovery and later adopted her. I’ve thought about Annie often over the years and the other night, her mom, Traci, contacted me with an update:
“Thank you again for saving her! She is fabulous and very loved!! She is also the best “surrogate “ (she’s spayed of course!) momma dog to my foster puppies!!! She has endless patience and energy for them!! I’m sorry it took 4 1/2 years” (Lola is on the left) – Diana

Hazel – Her Owner No Longer Wanted Her

2/12/18 – Hazel’s owner no longer wanted her and was taking her to a high-kill shelter. Beyond general neglect, Hazel had a cherry eye that needed surgery. There is no doubt that Hazel would have quickly been euthanized. An independent rescuer was able to find a small rescue group who agreed to take in Hazel if her medical could be covered. We did and Hazel had her surgery last week and she is doing very well. Wishing Hazel a new and pain-free life. ~ dianahazel 1:31:18Hazel w:sandra abrahamian 1:31:18hazel 2:09:18
