2/16/18 – Dakota (on the left) found himself at a local municipal shelter, heart worm positive. As I’ve said many times, municipal shelters are not funded to care for animal’s medical needs, especially something as serious as heart worm. Consequently, Dakota was scheduled to be euthanized. 2/15/18 – Smokey and Blackie were both rescued during the frigid temperatures of January in Michigan. Smokey was immediately seen by a veterinarian because of a severe upper respiratory infection.
