Biggie – Left Behind in the Home After His Family Moved

2/19/16 – Happy Update! This is Biggie. Here is his story as told by Rita M.:
“Biggie was rescued in southwest Detroit after his family moved and left him in the house to fend for himself. Fortunately, a woman who was practically homeless herself, began slipping food into the house so that he could live. She didn’t have much herself but posted a video online. Fortunately, I got the video and around 2 a.m. last October my husband and I were able to rescue him. Biggie is one of the best dogs I have every fostered. He is house trained and thanks again to 4 Paws 1 Heart, he is neutered, heart worm tested negative, and vaccinated. He gets along well with other dogs and is now looking for his forever home. ~ Rita”

Cupid – Continues to Improve

2/19/16 Cupid Update..
This baby puppy (weight is now 1.5 pounds), is doing very well and we are taking it one day at a time. Cupid is a fighter and he has the will to live. He is on vitamin drops, calorie paste, and I have to constantly encourage him to eat, but he will eat. smile emoticon His body is so conditioned to not eating food that it will just take time to build his strength and replenish the nutrients he has lost. Baby steps of improvement is all that matters to me.cupid 2:19:16cupid 2:19:16+ ♡ Gina

Valentino – Chased Down on I-75 in Detroit, MI

2/18/16 – We again thank the many animal saviors who do not turn their back on those who have been abused and abandoned. Here is the story of Valentino as told by his rescuer, Rita M. :

“Valentino was found running down I-75. We chased him for 2 miles, blocking off the freeway with the help of Michigan State Troopers. He had a huge lock and a skin tight collar on. He’s very skiddish; around 5 years old with no tags. We’ve posted him on lost and found pages but no takers. I don’t even know if this guy has ever been in a house; he didn’t know what to do with a dog bed. He would not sit still and won’t get on the couch. He is starting to warm up and is wagging his tail. I do have a potential adopter. Could 4 Paws 1 Heart help with vaccinations, neutering, and heart worm testing? – Rita”

Of course, we were happy to help Valentino possibly find a loving home where he will be kept inside and loved by taking care of his medical needs. ~ dianaValentinow:ritamiles 2:18:16valentinow:ritamiles 2:18:16++

Lost and Abandoned Cats of February, 2016

2/16/16 – You would think this is kitten season with all of the cats and kittens who have been rescued over the last two months. I truly thank God for all of the wonderful, caring people who will hang out into the evening in this cold weather trying to trap what usually becomes a domesticated cat who has been thrown out of his home or maybe became lost. Here are just a few who have found themselves into warm homes or warm outdoor shelters. All medical paid with 4 Paws 1 Heart dollars; thanks to our donors. ~ diana12717299_1092599427439021_7567114643741233591_n 12717299_1092599664105664_2524182500803406509_n12717742_1092599487439015_4538510080369553255_n12742373_1092598580772439_4721913776455267791_n12745797_1092599907438973_5479587711117487994_n

Hope – Still in Need of Prayers

2/15/16 – As you continue to pray for Cupid, please keep Hope in your prayers. She was rescued December 16, 2016 from a barn with over 50 cats. The owner of the barn is elderly and has been overwhelmed. 4 Paws 1 Heart paid for many of the feral cats to be spayed/neutered but little Hope needed much more. She had a severe upper respiratory infection which we felt would eventually result in having her eye removed. Since that time, Hope has been to two veterinarians, given medication, and had to have treatment on her eyes but the infection has not gone away. Last night she was taken into the Emergency by her new foster mom because she was not eating and appeared heavily congested. The good news is that her chest x rays showed she is clear but she needs to be on a nebulizer three times a day. She also had a severe case of ear mites. She will need her eye removed once she gets healthy. Just like Carlos, Cupid, and the many others, 4 Paws 1 Heart committed to seeing Hope through until she was healthy and spayed. When that day comes, our friends at Tigerlily have agreed to help with her adoption. We will keep you updated. Thanks, dianaHope 2:15:16Hope 2:15:16++

Cupid – His Fight Continues

2/15/16  cupid 2:15:16Cupid Update –
It was one week ago today that Cupid presented to the emergency hospital lifeless and literally dying. The amazing staff at the Animal urgent and critical care center saved his life. Dr. Right and Dr.Graves were then instrumental in getting Cupid under the care of 4 paws 1 heart. He has been with me since, and I am committed to doing everything I can to help make him better. It will be a long road and the most challenging part at this time is getting him to eat, replenish his nutrition, and help him build strength. Your prayers have helped! ♡ Gina

Fundraisers – 2016

2/11/16 – In just the last two weeks, 4 Paws 1 Heart has paid for 30 cats and two dogs, rescued from the streets, to be spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and tested. This does not include the two cases Gina just took on and some of the more extensive cases such as the two eye removals that will be coming up, as well as the continuing care of Carlos.

But, we can only do as much as we have funds to cover. Therefore, we are all working hard to raise money — either through individual donations or through fundraisers. Mark you calendars for our upcoming events and we truly hope that you can attend at least one of them. Our fundraisers are all about fun and saving the abandoned and abused. Also, don’t forget about our limited edition of 4 Paws 1 Heart Socks campaign running now through February 15. Thanks for your continued support! ~ diana60's revolutionpainting w:a twistbowling may 21, 2016 save the date
