Odin – He Loves to Cuddle. His New Year Wish is a Family to Call His Own

1/4/16 – It was April 18, 2015 when a good Samaritan brought ODIN into the emergency. It appeared he had been hit by a car and was just left on the street to die. He couldn’t use his back legs. After much loving and skilled care by the staff of the Animal Urgent and Critical Care Center, Odin, totally recovered and has since been fostered by Gina. For some reason, his perfect family has not been found. Here is a photo of Odin and Odin snuggling with his foster sister, Angel. He loves to give kisses and snuggle with whomever is available. Please share and send Gina an e-mail at [email protected] if you are interested in adopting this very sweet boy. He has been neutered and is totally up to date on vaccines. ~ diana

Two German Shepherds Rescued

12/30/15 – dog rescues 12:30:15 w:Heatherdogrescuesw:heather12:30:15Almost $130,000 paid in medical bills for 805 cats, 117 dogs, and 90 animals who were treated through the emergency hospital where Gina works. I say “almost” because as we approach the end of the year, animals are still going into veterinarians being helped. Here is a message we received the other day.Thankfully, because of you, both dogs will be seeing the doctor this week. We can’t promise we will be able to help with a hip issue or even a heart worm issue but we can commit to making sure these animals are no longer in pain, are vaccinated, will no longer be used for breeding for someone’s financial gain, and will have a safe and happy life from here on out: ~ diana

“On Christmas Eve my friend and I were on our way to deliver Xmas cookies to the homeless. We noticed while exiting the freeway two dogs running past us towards the free way. We immediately got out and were running after these dogs on the shoulder of the freeway to save them from getting hit. We put them in our car once caught and now they are at my residence. They are isolated as there is no way they are up to date on anything and looks like they were just used in someone’s backyard for breeding. The female is plump but had fleas and burrs matted in her hair. The male is in bad shape as you can feel every one in his hips and he walks with a hitch as I think he may have bad hips? He’s skinny and has burrs matted in his hair. They appear to be older like between 7-10? They are currently still in my basement in a kennel and we take them out every few hours but they need vet care. My guess is they most likely have worms and heart worms. My friend and I are willing to foster them till a rescue can take them on. It’s not ideal as we both have our own animals but we can’t see them get euthanized. Every place I’ve Called is full. It’s been almost a week now so I need a plan as to how to get these animals healthy. Can you help – Heather”

More Kittens Needing Forever Homes

Kane, Holly, Dean, Randy and Chyna are all looking for their furever homes!! Dean, Randy and Chyna are siblings. They are all well adjusted to other cats and dogs. Dean is the only cat who has a stipulation and that is he must go to a home with other pets, he actively seeks out their companionship (dogs and cats alike… He’d make a great clinic cat!), otherwise there are no stipulations. As an added bonus, all adoption fees will go back to 4P1H, who have graciously paid for the babies vet care. If you’re interested in adopting one or more of these babies , or if you have any questions, please email me at [email protected]om kittensw:heathersterner12:27:15

Chihuahuas – Abandoned and Abused

12/27/15 – We received the following message and couldn’t turn our back. How could we?? Debbie, who is facing so much of her own challenges, continues to try and save animals. Please share and if anyone is interested in adopting these babies, please contact Debbie at [email protected]. We were happy to pay the remaining medical bill and truly appreciate the discounts given by the veterinarian.

“Hi I was given your name by my best friend Lisa Struebing Decock. I need help with two little Chihuahuas that came into my possession under some strange consequences. I actually picked them up from Delta cargo on Friday evening. They came all the way from California from a high kill shelter. They were put on a plane without me confirming I would even take them. I had to go get them I wasn’t going to abandon them. They came with all their shots and microchipped and spayed. Their flight was even sponsored. Now basically they are my responsibility. I am only these little girls foster momma and already have four of my own dogs and two cats. With two of my fur babies being special needs animals. I am normally a foster for A Rejoyceful Animal Rescue but they are on an intake hold due to huge vet bills. This all wouldn’t be an issue except that one of the Chi’s has an extremely horrible mouth issue. It’s to the point that I’m not sure any of her teeth will be able to be saved. The other one is young and the only thing in her mouth is one canine baby tooth is going to have to be removed. I’m taking them in tonight to my vet for evaluations. I’ve been in tears about the one that’s mouth is in horrible condition. I’m sure there is infection going on and don’t want things to get worse ( Can’t imagine they could) But I don’t have funds of my own to get treatment. I also would like to talk to you about networking them under your rescue, of course after we get their teeth taken care of. Obviously I will foster them until their forever home can be found. They are both sweet little girls and deserve the best. I am beyond myself trying to figure out how I can help these little girls. I’m facing Breast Cancer surgery in the upcoming months and again have four of my own. I am on disability from a horseback riding accident so funds are more than tight. I appreciate your consideration in advance.”
