Somerset – Update

Somerset Update♡ A good Samaritan saw her walking out of a bush last Sunday. An employee of the building said a stray dog had some pups, but he thought they had all died. That’s when the good Samaritan scooped Somerset up and, shortly thereafter, we were contacted.

Today marks day 8 since she was found, and the positive energy from our supporters is working! Thank YOU! Here is Dr. Maria giving lots of love and Somerset is soaking it up. Daily bandage changes are taking place because of some skin that was traumatized and is now sloughing off. While the healing takes place those areas are being protected to prevent infection, so a t-shirt was made for her. The doctors feel that her age is an advantage to her healing quickly, and we trust them with her life 100%. Everything happens for a reason…I don’t know what hers is… but Somerset is a GIFT.

Somerset – Still Needs Prayers

8/24/15 – Somerset had her first major procedure yesterday. We are dealing with damage to her skin, on one of her front legs, and this requires a special daily bandage change. We are not certain of the cause, but we welcome positive thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery. Here she is with Angel the morning before her procedure. Angel is giving her lovins.. Somerset – Sitting Up and Eating

8/21/15 – Update on our little “Somerset”. We’re taking things one day at a time but she is not out of the woods. Last night there was blood work done and things did not look as great as we had hoped. She pooped out about 25 worms in the last two days, even had one crawl out of her mouth!!! She is anemic (probably due to the heavy worm burden), and we’re hoping that with those worms out of her system her anemia won’t get worse. She is for the most part eating on her own (as you can see), and she is sweet as can be. However there are random blisters showing up on her chest and we don’t know why or where they are coming from. Might be related to the trauma to her left front leg. She is on antibiotics and we will update again as soon as we know more. Please keep your prayers going we need all the prayers we can get for her survival. ~ Ginasomerset8:21:15

Frankie – He Showed Up On a Deck and Found His Forever Home

11870738_1003092146389750_1845745199635524533_n8/21/15 – Meet Frankie – This handsome, very sweet boy just wandered onto a porch one day. It appeared he had been on the streets for awhile. He had no identification and no one in the neighborhood seemed to be looking for him. The man living in the home fell in love with him and asked for our help in getting him to a vet. Well, at his first visit to the vet he got the usual vaccinations and flea treatment and the pre-exam for neutering. On the day he was to be neutered it was determined that his testicles had not descended and that surgery would be required. His surgery is now being scheduled through Gina and we will let you know how it goes. Frankie is one of four expensive cases we have coming up. Daisy will need her eye removed; Max will be receiving heart worm treatment (story to follow), and Felicia will be having a leg amputated next week (story to follow. Donations have been very slow so anything you can spare will be much appreciated because the day-to-day requests never stop. Thanks!! diana

Celebrating 5 Years of Making A Difference – Happy Anniversary to 4 Paws 1 Heart

8/20/15 – Anniversary Week ~~ Celebrating the many lives we saved. This is Fiona. It was 2012 when this 13 week old bundle of joy! She was found in an abandoned house in Detroit, scared, alone and on her death bed. A good Samaritan heard her cries for help and took her into the Emergency Clinic. It turns out that Fiona had Parvo. Parvo is a deadly virus that puppies, who are not fully vaccinated, can get and most puppies do not make it through Parvo. However, with the combined efforts of 4 Paws 1 Heart and the wonderful staff at the clinic, Fiona survived and with the help of our friends at A Rejoyceful Animal Rescue, a loving home was found. A huge thank you to Fiona’s wonderful mom who always keeps us updated. ~ diana11873628_1002619376437027_5148449060440129695_n 11229905_1002624006436564_2620634398127692633_n
