Twyla – Honoring Law Enforcement Men and Women

1/9/18 – In honor of National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day, I thought it appropriate to share Twyla’s story (she was saved by a police officer) once again with you. Every day there are caring police officers who not only protect the citizens of their communities, but will not turn their back when they see an animal in need. In St. Clair Shores, we have a very caring officer, Sgt. Eidt, who is a member of our Animal Care and Welfare Committee. Every night when she is on duty she keeps her eyes out for animals in trouble and works hard to educate and protect. In our Michigan State Police, there is Trooper Kuhn, who, with his partner, saved Joy (see our website for her story). I’m sure that our many supporters know of an officer in their community; if you do, please share on this post. Again, a huge thank you to the men and women serving our communities to protect humans and animals.
Please share Twyla’s store and help us find our little Twyla her forever home. – May God Bless and watch over our Laws Enforcement Officers and their families. ~ diana

“Hey Facebook Land, it’s me…Twyla! As you can see, I’m absolutely purrrfect in every way. I was rescued from the streets by a super nice Police Officer when Iwalked right up to her squad car asking for help, well…to serve & protect…right?
Right! She scooped me up and took me to my foster mommy’s house to rest, put on some much needed weight, and she even donated to 4 Paws 1 Heart to help with my spay, shots & snap test. So now I’m spayed, tested neg & happy & healthy, all ready for my forever home!!! I’m approx 15mo old, very playful, very talkative. Love my food & my toys, and I’m housed with other kitty’s & 2 doggys, so I get along with others but also would be quite content being the only princess of your palace! If you want to know more about all my perfection then send my foster mommy an email with your phone # to [email protected] By the way I’m located in Clinton Township…Where they have the bestest kitty saving Police Officers! 🐱🚔twyla 1:9:18

Chester, Reggie, Mel, Lucky, Betty, and Logan – All Found in Dangerous Situations But Made Adoptable Through the Help of 4p1h

1/9/18 – More of the very sweet cats who were rescued from the street or in ‘feral’ cat communities. As always, thank you to our supporters and to those many individuals who see an animal in danger and respond. Here is Chester, Reggie, Mel, Lucky, Betty, and Logan. Remember that we offer to place all animals, who we’ve helped with medical, on our Petfinder site and our Friends of 4 Paws 1 Heart page. Those animals who require forever homes are posted there if the rescuer wishes but in many cases, the rescuer either provides their own permanent loving home or gets the animal adopted through friends. So, if you are looking for a new family member, check out those sites. chester 1:8:18reggie 1:8:18mel 1:8:18lucky 1:8:18betty w:michelle murray 11:8:17Logan 1:8:18. ~ diana

They now have a loving home with their rescuer. It is only through a Village can we reduce the number of abandoned and stray animals needing our help. ~ dianarocky and apollo 1:6:18

Jordon – Was Given a Death Sentence But With Dedication and Love, He Lives to Start a New Beginning

1/5/18 – The emergency doctor’s said Jordan had a slight chance of making it and would require days of care and many medical dollars. Patricia told me that she could take the challenge and not only did she take it but she won!!! So very happy for these babies and that 4 paws 1 Heart could be there to help. – diana

“This is a day I didn’t see coming…..many tears of joy and many tears of loss……My sweet sweet Jordan was adopted today. It was the hardest adoption ever for me as this boy had my heart. He was adopted by a lovely couple. Last year, the young mans mother adopted my Caroline, momma to 5 kittens and nurturer to 5 more. I cried before I left and all the way home, but knowing he will be loved and spoiled is enough for me. To top it all off, this afternoon, Casey found his forever home, to a lovely couple and already getting updates and I just left!!! In 6 days 4 of my fosters have flown the coop! So….Jordan, Casey, Jodie and Josie, you all took my heart with you, much love and a happy life from mom.
My many thanks go out to Diana Rascano and 4Paws1Heart, and all the shares that made this happen. Thank you everyone! – Patricia”jordon Fall 2017

Coyotes Kill Dog

1/5/18 – We did confirm that the dog was in this man’s yard and he was just 6 feet away when two coyotes entered the yard and took his dog. Heartbreaking!!! Please be careful with your pets. Not only do you now have to worry about the frigid weather but you have to worry about animals who prey on small animals. We are so very sorry for this family and the trauma they have gone through. ~ diana

Little One – Found In Below Freezing Temperatures; Back Legs Frozen

1/4/18 – Two days ago I received another message about a cat found frozen on the side of the road. Here is the message:
“My name is Jamie. I found a cat this morning on the side of the road. Looks full grown but under weight. I brought it in my work. It’s back legs work but not fully. The baby came right to me when I grabbed her. Didn’t yell at all. So I don’t think she’s feral for sure. Poor baby had icicles hanging from her/his whiskers . I don’t know what to do. Any help would be so greatly appreciated.”
Jamie later told me that she was able to get an appointment at one of the veterinary clinics we, fortunately, work with so I made the call to authorize payment for the visit. After examination, the doctor thought that the ‘leg issue’ could be a result of being frostbite. Yesterday I received an update that Little One’s legs seem to be “working better”. She finally urinated on her own and is eating good. Little One wants a lot of attention and loves to be on Jamie’s lap being rocked. Although Jamie would love to keep Little One, her cat isn’t too happy right now plus the family just moved to a new house, which I’m sure is causing stress for the family’s cat. We will definitely pay for Little One to be spayed and vaccinated once she is a little healthier and we will have her lets examined again. If anyone is interested in this sweetie, please contact Jamie at: [email protected] ~ diana

Regal – RIP Sweet Baby – Wish We Could Have Saved You

1/3/17 – RIP Sweet Regal. May you be free from pain and whole again.
I received a message from a long-time supporter. A cat had showed up in a garage which services tires. I was told the cat was injured but really never knew the extent until she was finally trapped yesterday. The employees of the garage had tried for weeks to get her and although she came for food, she remained elusive. Finally, we were able to get a trap there and she was finally caught. Our good friend, Debra B. was able to get her and we made arrangements for her to be immediately seen by a veterinarian. Unfortunately, it took over 15 minutes to get Regal under in order to examine her and what was found was just heartbreaking. Regal was very emaciated. Her eye was gone and her face was literally falling off from layers of infection — the skin was totally dead. Regal was very feral and very much in pain. The doctor said she hadn’t seen any animal in this bad of condition in years. Debra advised that this photo doesn’t even come close to depicting the horror of her condition. The doctor advised that it would take many weeks of treatment, bandage changes, visits to the doctor, and cleanings in order to even hope of saving her. All involved agreed that making Regal suffer any longer than she already has would not be humane. I wish we could save them all but when we can’t, it’s critical that we are able to do what is best for the animal. Please, please pray for all of the poor animals who continue to be outside in these life-killing temperatures. ~ dianaregal w:debra berolatti
