Feline Leukemia and Feline FIV – Don’t Hesitate to Test Again

Please take notice. Our rescue family has experienced similar results. Always re-test some time later. Especially if there were any infections when the test was taken. We’ve been told that tests can be wrong 30% of the time. – diana

“Found out today that one of my foster kitties is no longer testing positive for feline leukemia! (Yay!) She had a rough start in life, and you may notice she has a damaged eye, but she’s feeling great in spite of everything! She is a dilute calico, approx 1 y/o, spayed and utd on shots. Super sweet, too! As her brother is still not well, I’d like to find her a different foster home (or maybe even a forever home?) We are located in Macomb. I will transport and handle future vet $. Roxie – Rescued from the Streets

2/28/18 – Roxie was found on the city streets by a kind woman who didn’t turn away. She contacted 313 K9 and Kitty Rescue and they asked if we could help — which we did. Roxy was taken to one of our vets where she was spayed, vaccinated, and tested. She is now doing great in a foster home and looking for her forever family Contact 313 if you are interested. Without your donations, we couldn’t say ‘yes’ to all of these lost and alone animals. 4paws1heart.org ~ dianaroxie 2:17:18 w:313Roxie w:313 2:28:18

Knox – Rescued From a Cat Community – A Broken Leg Resulted in Amputation

2/28/18 – Please send some positive thoughts and prayers to Knox. Last week we received the following call for help:

“Hi Diana my name is Danielle and I have a feral cat population in my neighborhood and being the animal lover I am , I feed most of them. I have a kitten that lives in my yard that is almost a year old and I noticed that he started limping a couple of days ago. I managed to get a closer look today and one of his back legs is definitely broken. It looks like he was caught in a trap, the fur is completely stripped away in one area and you can actually see the bone. He holds the leg up and manages to limp around my yard but if the leg even touches the ground he screams. He is still eating but his sweet spirit is definitely broken. I work for a pitbull rescue and know quite a bit about them, but I am not very knowledgeable about cats. He somewhat trusts me, he will let me pet him but is very fearful of other humans.- Danille:

Arrangements were made for Knox to see a vet and it was confirmed that his leg was broken and needed to be amputated. Danielle and I already discussed this possibility because if this happened, he could not go back outside again. Knox’s leg was amputated but before that he was found to be feline leukemia positive. Thankfully, Danielle, wanted to give this sweet boy. who was obviously caught in an inhumane trap, love and shelter and she will be keeping him and 4 Paws 1 Heart has committed to helping him in his journey. ~ diana

UPDATE:  “HI auntie Diana! I am in my new home with mom and my new k9 brother Chevy. We just wanted to send a pic so you could see how handsome and happy I am. Thanks again for saving my life, we love you. – Knox”knox w:danielle leeknox2:28:18

Joey, Rachel, Ross, Monica and Phoebe – Puppies Found on the Streets

2/27/18 – Last week I saw this posting about two sets of puppies rescued by 313 K9 and Kitty Rescue. Two are 12 weeks old and the others are 6 weeks old. I contacted the Rescue and offered to pay for them to be seen by a vet and to have the one little guy’s nose examined.

“I don’t even have the words to describe the hurt i feel for these babies that were saved earlier this evening! I want so much to just feed them & give them all the water they can drink, but i know it has to be done slowly. Skin & bones with bloated wormy bellies 🙁 covered in urine & feces. Small abrasions & one looks like his nose may have been broken & healed. They stink like you can’t even imagine. I’m just thankful they’re safe & are now on the greatest journey of their little lives! – Shawn”puppies w:313 2:23:18puppies w:313puppies313-2:23:18

Anna – Left Behind With Large Mass on Her Leg

2/26/18 – This beautiful girl was left behind when her owners moved. Unfortunately, she has a huge mass on her leg. Anna has been tested and blood work was done which indicated normal blood levels with the exception of an infection. Anna received antibiotics and will be seeing the vet again in 8 days and will possibly need surgery to remove the mass. Please send your positive thoughts and prayers her way. ~ diana

Roscoe – Pulled from a Shelter Before Being Euthanized

2/23/18 – Roscoe was rescued from a shelter before being euthanized. Because 4 paws 1 heart was willing to pay for Roscoe’s vetting, he was pulled from the shelter and is now with a rescue looking for his forever home. We are so very thankful to our donors for giving us the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of the abandoned and abused. ~ dianaRoscoe w:sandra abrahamian 2:22:18
