HOMELESS FRIENDLY KITTEN NEEDS A PLACE BEFORE WINTER

11/10/22 – Although, we are very thankful that we can still afford to assist with the basics (vaccines, testing, and neuter/spay), we also want to help get the orphans off of the streets, especially with winter closing in. Here is the message I received from a caring woman who contacted us for help. We took care of the medical needs but we are not a rescue and couldn’t take the cat in.

If you are interested in adopting her, please contact: [email protected] – diana.

“I’m sure you are getting a lot of emails & calls for help with animals but our neighborhood has a roughly 6 month old, homeless, female kitten that is very friendly & sweet. She is a medium hair black & white kitten. We posted her on our city’s FB page to see if she was someone’s pet but people stated that they thought she was born to a feral mom behind one of the factories in our area. We also checked “For The Love of Louie” website but didn’t find any posts reporting a kitten missing.

We are giving her food and water every day and we can pet her. Today, I purchased a heated pad – cat house off of Amazon because we don’t want her to get cold with the weather changing. I’m not sure where she goes at night but she meets us every evening and every morning at our front door so we can feed her. She runs between our legs and rolls around on the ground.

We just can’t take her in because of the crew we already have. We also don’t want anything to happen to her or for her to get pregnant and for there to be even more homeless kitties so we are reaching out for help. We are really hoping you can help by taking her into your rescue.- Erica”

MUFFINS NEEDS FURTHER TESTS AT MICHIGAN STATE VETERINARY HOSPITAL

It was a very long day and we just got home a little while ago. I feel like crawling in a hole but I don’t want to leave everyone hanging. They say that everything happens for a reason and I know things could be worse. I’m trying to find the “positive” the “reason” behind my purpose and involvement in this journey. It’s hard, because we took her in this morning feeling excited and hopeful.. Relaxed and relieved.. I left tonight feeling helpless and defeated just like every single time this last 4 months when I thought we were close to fixing this issue so she could live a normal life. Despite all efforts from Dr. Kustasz and the wonderful team at Oakland Veterinary Referral Services, Muffins’ needs further testing at Michigan State Veterinary Hospital. Her extremely rare condition is bigger than expected but there IS a treatment. The problem is the cost. I’ll explain more in detail later, but basically she will need Fluroscopy with contrast and then corrective surgery to fix it. They were able to use the camera to look inside her nasal cavity and pharynx, but a wire guided balloon dilation catheter could not be placed because there was no opening found. The doctor was genuine and I fully trust that they gave their all. Once I know the estimated cost from MSU I’ll be doing another fundraising page for Muffins’. In the meantime, if you want your donation to go towards her care please specify to me or Diana. Thank you all for your calls, texts, and prayers. Also, thank you to my supportive husband for being my rock and putting up with my emotional mess of a self these last several months. I’ll update again soon. Gina

A Second Chance For Chance facebook page

CHANCE: Hey there Team! We are soooo happy to be able to tell you that our SuperHero neighbor Jasna trapped the last remaining kitty of the 6 feral cats that were in a very, very dangerous situation. As we told you of this little colony that had been being fed by a caretaker for the last 5yrs 4 kittys have disappeared and one was found shot and despite being rescued and taken out to Dr. Zs, that baby couldn’t be saved. As heartbreaking as that is, it’s because of him that the remaining 6 of his colony have now all been trapped and are safe indoors at Jasna’s house. You did a great job Jasna and we are all here to help you with whatever you need! 4 Paws 1 Heart will be covering their basic vetting as Jasna gives them some time to decompress and see if any of them will be able to be socialized. As of tonight all are eating and all are using the litter boxes…that’s huge!!!! You are all safe now kids, you can sleep easy.

CHANCE

I will be catching up real soon but I’m the meantime, i thought I’d share the update on our boy, Chance. And, also ask for your prayers for not only Chance but our Muffins who will be going to OVRS tomorrow. Paws crossed and again thank you for your financial support. -diana

Hi everybody! So here are some pics & video from Chances appointment today at Pawsitive Steps Rehabilitation & Sports Medicine . Under each pic explains what you are looking at. These are x-rays and ultrasound, but unfortunately although they do let us see some things, they don’t let see other things with soft tissue, bones and organs which is why we need the neuro scans. You can see signs of disk disease, but not if he has a herniated disk. You can see calcification in his kidneys, but you cant see if there stones imbedded or if there’s stones in his urethra. Or cancer. We just don’t know. That’s why these scans are so important. Everything obvious has been treated for and nothing is working, it has to be something we aren’t seeing. His appointment at Dogwood Veterinary Referral Center cant come soon enough. Thankyou to everyone who has donated so far to his fundraiser (link is below) – Denise

and thankyou 4 Paws 1 Heart for being there for Chance every step of his journey.

Chance’s spine. You see how everything is in a nice straight line until you get to the part where the circle and arrows are? Dr. Kern thinks that may be the sight of the original injury that paralyzed Chance 7yrs ago right before he came to us. Its possible there may now be a herniated disk but you cant see that without a mri. He has signs of disk disease as well.

FLINT ALL ABOUT ANIMAL TNR SUSPENDED

11/5/22 – Sad news for the many rescuers and the cats/dogs who need to be spayed/neutered. The All About Animals clinics are invaluable to the world of rescue. – diana.

It is with great sadness that we are unable to offer walk-in TNR in Flint.

We are actively hiring for Veterinary Technicians to get back to walk-in TNR. Know a Tech who wants to jump into supporting high-volume spay/neuter? Have them contact us! It’s rewarding knowing that every pet you prepped that day, changes their life greatly for the better, while at the same time you’ve helped prevent unwanted litters with nowhere to go.

A Second Chance For Chance facebook Page link

CHANCE: Good morning Team, I want to talk to you about a SuperHero. Our nextdoor neighbor is a huge animal lover and has several cats of her own. All were rescued from bad situations and seniors who’s owner passed away. She works very hard to give these fur kids a good life. Well….

our neighbor got word last week from the caretaker of a horrible situation of a kitty from a small feral colony who was very hurt and not able to walk and she used her own money to get this Kitty out to Dr. Zs. Tragically it was learned that this poor baby had been shot! The bullet was lodged in its spine, the kitty could not be saved . Since then 4 more kittys have gone missing! Our SuperHero advised mom that they are very concerned that someone is killing the kittys!!!! Jasna has set up a room in her house, traps have been borrowed and she is trying to trap the remaining 5-6 feral kittys. She has gotten 2 as of this morning and will be working to get the rest this weekend. It is believed that one she got is pregnant and another one yet to catch is also pregnant. It’s a big deal to take 5-6 feral kittys into your home when you already have rescued kittys but this is an urgent matter. Obviously trying to socialize feral kittys is a monumental if not impossible task, but our SuperHero is willing to try as most are young. Help will be needed with basic vetting, thankyou to4 Paws 1 Heart for stepping up for that, possibly finding feral sanctuary, forever homes and lots of supplies! Right now the biggest need is food. So, we have added more kitten food to our Amazon Wishlist for the pregnant mama’s not to mention the mama’s and kittens we are already helping! Our Pantry is near empty again. We need kitten wet and dry, Friskies Wet and Dry also. We will also be adding litter for Jasna as well as other supplies as she needs them. We’ve posted our Amazon Wishlist below Team and will keep you posted on these kittys, our SuperHero Jasna and their needs.

RIP Sweet Baby, we are so sorry
