7/28/17 – Snowball and his brother were rescued during a TNR effort. At only two months old, Snowball had a half-dollar size gash under his chin which was infected and, according to the rescuer, the trachea was visible. We were contacted and approved having Snowball seen by a doctor. After being examined, it was determined that there was infection and it was critical that surgery be done to clean and close the wound otherwise Snowball would die from a progressive infection. But, the doctor stressed that if surgery was done within hours, Snowball would be a healthy, loving kitten. We agreed to the surgery which was done yesterday. The rescuer brought Snowball’s brother to the hospital to keep him Company. The surgery was successful and here you can see Snowball with his brother while recovering. (I did not post the most graphic of the photos of the wound but one can get a sense of the severity by the photos posted). ~ diana

Dusty – Suffering From a Severe Upper Respiratory Left at the Door With Her 3 Babies
7/27/17 – In early June, this sweet momma, Dusty, and her 3 babies were left at the doors of Patterson Veterinary. Dusty’s eye was very bad and it was later determined that it would need removal. Her surgery is now scheduled for tomorrow (which will include spaying). Dusty has been a great mom and all of the babies are doing well. Amber, who is a vet tech at the veterinary, took in this family and will make sure everyone finds their way to a loving home. 4 Paws 1 Heart has committed to covering medical for the babies. – Say a little prayer that everything goes well for Dusty. ~ diana
Hitch – He Was Stuck in a Car Engine and Survived the Ride
I just thank God and all those who donated in my mom’s memory. Since Sunday, I have approved medical treatment for almost 30 cats — all in various states of health. We have and will have eye removals, severe upper respiratory infections, leg removal, hernia surgery, and, of course, just the ‘ordinary’ spay/neuter, vaccinations, and testing. Good Luck to this little cutie. That could have been a death ride. ~ diana
“Meet “Hitch” ❤️
❤️ our rescue A Rejoyceful Animal Rescue received a call this morning about a lil kitten that was stuck in a car engine
😢
This lil one survived the ride from PetSmart in Chesterfield where they originally saw her but where unable to locate her even with Chesterfield Police help♥️. When this morning she heard a loud crying noise and realize after parking the car in garage on Sunday this kitten had hitched a ride to her home. I went there and the Don & Carole were so helpful by jacking up the car so I could get under it and get the lil one out ( she was wedged in the bumper housing and the frame)
A huge THANK YOU to Diana Rascano from 4 Paws 1 Heart graciously stepped up to medically back lil Hitch!!!!
Hitch came out of this with not one injury !!!!! ❤️
❤️
She will be up for adoption with A Rejoyceful Animal Rescue when ready !!!!! Fill out for adoption app now !!!! – Kim “
Maggie Lu – Found Wandering the Streets – Flea Infested, Intact, and Both Legs Needing Surgery
7/26/17 – Our 4 Paws 1 Heart family has been unbelievably caring and generous in hearing of the death of my mom. Two days ago I received the following message “Hi Diana, we are so sorry to hear about the passing of your mom. I hope you can find some comfort at this difficult time. also, my husband and I would like to do a March donation up to $500”.
So, over the next week all donations made up to $500 will be matched by this very caring supporter of 4 Paws 1 Heart. Please help us get to $500 by using the donation link on this page or by mail at P.O. Box 84, St.Clair Shores, MI 48080. It is only with your donations and support can we continue to help save the lives of the abandoned like Maggie Lu.
Maggie Lu was found not-spayed, horribly flea infested, with long nails, and with both knees needing cranial cruciate surgery. An owner could not be found. Although the rescuer was willing to give Maggie Lu a forever home, she could not afford the medical bills. We were contacted and Monday, Maggie Lu was spayed and had surgery on one leg. The surgery went well and 4 Paws 1 Heart, if money is available, will help Maggie Lu with the surgery on her other leg when the time comes. Here she is when first rescued and a little later before surgery ~ diana
Keno – Almost Shredded in a Chicken Coop
7/26/17 – If you are looking for a super lovable cat please message me on here. Keno is a male about 3 months old. He has checked out healthy by our doctors, and he is ready to go. Please share this little friend.. ♡
He came running out of a field a few weeks back, he was covered in burrs, he darted towards a chicken coop, and a very nice family saved him. He is now with us. ~ Gina
Casper – Only 10 Months Old, Deaf, and Running the Streets
7/25/17 – Meet Casper. At 10 months and deaf, he was found running the streets. The rescuers found out who his owners were but when they were contacted, they chose to not take him. The rescuers could not afford to keep him and contacted our friends at Friends of Scooby Rescue. We have often helped this rescue, and in this case, we were asked again if we could help Casper with neutering, vaccinating, and testing. Of course we did. Casper is now in a loving foster home where the young son of the house and Casper have already bonded. The young man is already learning sign language to teach Casper. Casper will also be in training for the next six months and our prayer is that he will find the perfect loving home once ready. Who knows?? Maybe, he already found that. ~ diana
Kittens -2017 – 6 Kittens Found Very Ill in a Backyard
7/25/17 UPDATE: The 4 orange babies were seen at Patterson this morning. They were given eye ointment and were treated for fleas and worms. The two who are most ill may need to have an eye removed. They will be seen again within the next two weeks. Paws crossed and prayers that won’t have to happen. – diana
7/24/17 – Please pray for these babies. I was contacted yesterday about 6 kittens rescued from a person’s backyard. All of them were sick, a couple of them more than the others. The rescuer not only needed medical assistance but needed help with placement because her family was leaving for vacation today. With much wrangling and phone calls to as many friends as I could think of, a plan was made. The rescuer had contacted Wilson’s Veterinary who said they would hold the kittens BUT if we could not find a foster, all of the kittens would be picked up the next day (today) by animal control. In the condition they were in, there was a good chance they would be euthanized if that happened. I agreed to pay for the kittens to be examined — at emergency prices — and to be treated. My dilemma was to pay for the medical which would be between $800 and $1,000 only to have them killed the next day or to take a chance that we could find someone to take these poor, sick babies in. God was with us because our good friend Jo Addington agreed to take in all 6 and our very good friend, Debra Berolatti agreed to pick them up this morning and take them to Jo’s. Once picked up from the vet, Debra and Chance’s mom, Denise, also spent time at Jo’s house cleaning their eyes and making sure they were comfortable. The photos here are of them before they had been cleaned up. Tomorrow, four of them will be taken to Patterson Veterinary Hospital and the two grey babies will be cared for by our friend Patricia Brown and her wonderful daughter, Bree. I know I’ve said this before, but rescue is not a singular effort; it truly takes a village. Also, please note that as fast as the donations come in, the donations go out. If anyone has any money to spare, please help with the medical care for these babies. There are also two more (one caught and one more to go) being fostered elsewhere. Donations can be made on this page or by mail at P.O. Box 84, St. Clair Shores, MI . 48080. ~ diana
