Don Gato – Found With an Infected Mouth and a Tumor

5/3016 – While we all remember the the many men, women, and dogs who have made the ultimate sacrifice to protect our freedom, I would like to ask our friends for a little prayer for this guy. He was found with a large tumor/cyst on his face and a horrendous mouth infection. We were contacted by his rescuer and had him taken to the great staff of Rescue Veterinary Services. Don Gato, a very sweet feline, required the removal of 6 teeth and a sample was taken of the large tumor/cyst on his face. The results from the sample will not be available for about 5 days. We are praying that the tumor is non-malignant and can be removed; although, it may disfigure his face. This little guy is no longer in pain and we are committed to doing what is best for him. His rescuer, Beth, will be keeping him much loved and cared for. Without your donations, we could not make miracles happen. ~ dianadon gatow:beth and kelly5:30:16

Aura – Happy and Healing After Her Eye Surgery

5/29/16 – We’ve told you about Aura in the past (see our website4paws1heart.org and search ‘aura’). She was rescued by Bully’s Angels and required eye surgery. We learned of Aura’s need and offered to take Aura under our wing and pay for the surgery. The other day Aura had her two-week post surgery visit to the great doctors of Veterinary Vision and everything is looking great. Here she is happy and playful now that the ‘cone of shame’ has been removed. Anyone interested in this beauty, should contact Bully’s Angels. ~ dianaaura 5:29:16=== aura5:29:16 auraw:bullysangels5:28:16

Fella – His Back Legs are Paralyzed

5/25/16 – This little Maltese was recently surrendered to one of our friends who is often involved in rescuing. His name is Fella and his back legs appear to be paralyzed. His owner said that he returned from a groomer 8 months ago and was no longer able to walk. The little guy was in pretty tough shape when the rescuer got involved. His fur was yellowed by urine, he was extremely matted, and couldn’t use his back legs. We have referred his medical records and x rays to Dr. Kern of Pawsitive Steps Rehabilitation and Therapy for Pets and we will see where we go from there. Please say a little prayer for this guy. ~ dianafella5:25:16

Superhero Chance – Facing Some Medical Issues

5/24/16 – Please say a few prayers for our Superhero, Chance. Thank, diana

“Good morning Team! Sooo, my appointment is set. I will be going tomorrow at 2:00 for my tests. Mom, Auntie Debra & maybe even Auntie Gina will be going with me and we will find out what these pesky lumps and swollen lymphnodes in my back legs are all about. I will be getting bloodwork done, an ultrasound, and a fine needle aspiration. Mom says that’s where they put a small needle into my lumps and draw out fluid and tissue and send it off to see what’s causing the lumps. Moms a bit beside herself, but I’m her brave SuperHero…I got this! And thank goodness..4 Paws 1 Heart has got my back Me and mom know these tests are expensive and we’re so grateful that 4 Paws 1 Heart works with the best vets and are here for me. But they can’t do what they do without your help. If you would like to help with my medical care please go to 4paws1heart.org/donations/
Have a great day everybody! Love & Purrrs Chance”chance5:14:16 chance, 2016

Half of His Face was Missing; Making the Tough Decisions; RIP Sweet Boy

5/22/16 – RIP Sweet Boy. Our friend, Denise Najera, received a call from someone about this cat who was very injured. He was elusive for awhile but, finally, he was trapped and we made arrangements for him to be taken to our friends at Advanced Animal Emergency. Unfortunately, his injuries were critical and he was in much pain; half of his face was missing. He was also found to be positive for feline leukemia. As difficult as it always is, it was decided that the best for him was humane euthanasia. He is now whole again playing with all of our fur children who have gone before us. ~ diana

Kittens – Spring, 2016

5/16/16 – Last week we were contacted about dozens of kittens. This little family was recently saved but one of the little guys had a severe upper respiratory infection. We were happy to help. We’ve all seen the ravages of these infections. If left untreated, not only is their respiratory system damaged but they will typically have to have an eye/s removed. Kitten season is definitely in bloom and if you can spare any donations, it would be much appreciated. Donations can be made by clicking the ‘donate’ button on this page or by mail at P.O. Box 84, St. Clair Shores, MI 48080

Toepfer – He Would Have Died in the Street

5/14/16 – It was late January of this year when Suzanne contacted us about this very sweet boy lying in the middle of a semi-main street. 4 Paws 1 Heart was happy to pay for neutering, vaccinating, testing, and minor treatments and even happier that Suzanne was committed to trying to find him a permanent home. We’ve since decided that Toepfer has adopted her and her home is where he will stay. YEAH! Here is Suzanne’s update:

“Toepher update: I’ve yet to find someone interested in adopting him, but he is learning much about being an indoor kitty, including playing with my Daisy, playing with toys, and how yummy treats can be. He also gave me two lovely things for mumma’s day. A kiss on the upper cheek and a snuggle in my arms which led to quite a long nap. He is learning to be such a lovebug! Thank you for assisting me in giving him a more comfortable and safer life full of love and fun. You’re awesome! Suzanne”toepfer5:14:16

Franny – Wandering the Streets, Heart Worm Positive

5/13/16 – This beautiful girl was found wandering the streets. She had no identification and after being held by animal control for five days, no one claimed her. She was taken to a veterinarian for vetting and was, unfortunately, found to be heart worm positive. The animal control officer contacted us and asked if we could pay for the heart worm treatment; if so, she had a rescue willing to take her. How could we turn our backs on a face like this??? Franny has been going through treatment. Anyone interested in her should check out Care Rescue. Thank you again to our many supporters who help us make miracles happen. ~ dianafrannyw:lisaofcarerescue5:10:16
