Amelia – She was Found on the Side of the Road with a Broken Arm

9/19/17 – Another generous donor has offered a MATCHING CHALLENGE. Over the next week, our supporter will match all donations up to $500. As I’ve often said this summer, we have helped with some very serious cases where the animals would have otherwise been euthanized.
This is Amelia. She was found on the side of the road. The rescuer had her a few days before contacting us. Amelia was very weak and couldn’t move, walk, or stand. She was very flea infested and could not put weight on her right front paw.
I authorized Amelia to be seen by one of our favorite doctors and it was determined that Amelia’s arm was broken and required amputation. She was also anemic from the flea infestation. It was also determined that Amelia had some issues with her other arm but the doctor believes she will be able to adjust. Amelia had her surgery and she quickly adapted. She will be looking for her forever family. If you are that family, please contact Chelsea at: [email protected]

Kitten With Severe Upper Respiratory Infection

9/18/17 – These are the types of cases we have been working with all year. We were contacted about a 4-5 week old kitten who had “a large bulge coming out of his left eye with pus”. We immediately authorized the rescuer to take the kitten to a vet and one month later, the kitten is doing well and her eye is recovering. We are so very thankful in that we have had so many eye removals this year. I just wish that all of the abandoned animals who are suffering on the street could somehow find their way to a loving family. ~ dianakitten w:uri 9:1717kitten 9:17:17 wuri

Josie and Baby Hope – Need Our Prayers

9/17/17 – Prayer Warriors Needed – I’ve posted about her and her baby Hope and the other three kittens she had, who died. All babies have since died and now the momma, renamed, Hope, has been taken to the emergency hospital. Her white cell count is next to nothing and she continues to have a severe upper respiratory infection. She has spent the night in the hospital and my discussion with the veterinarian was not hopeful. Please say a little prayer for this sweet baby. ~ dianajosie and baby 9:9:17

Chance – Very Friendly but Severely Emaciated

9/16/17 – This is the message I received from Cortney regarding a stray. Thank God, because of our $1,000 Match Challenge, I said YES. Look at this poor baby — how could we not? ~ diana

“Chance was found by my Uncle, at my Grandma’s birthday party at a hall. Chance was outside licking the sweat from a can, she was very friendly and approached my uncle. He brought her inside during the festivities, and we fed her and gave her water. She had some superficial injuries and was also emaciated, I had cat food and water bottles and bowls in my trunk which we gave to her. The vet estimated Chance to be about 5 years old and a spayed female, however, there is no tattoo, so it is hard to say whether she is spayed or not. There does seem to be somewhat of a faded scar on her abdomen. My uncle then told me he could watch her overnight while I found placement. I brought food and a litter box to his house for Chance. He thought he may have been interested in keeping her and it did not work out. I then went and got Chance and brought her home to my house, where she will remain until she is healthy enough for adoption. She is showing signs of excessive thirst and dehydration. The vet examined her, she has gone to Centerline Vet once for boosters, and then again for her second round of deworming, where ear drops were also prescribed. Chance also has a tail flick that she does sometimes that appears to be some kind of nerve damage or muscle spasm. Possibly from her injuries, the vet requested I get this instance on video and send it to Centerline Vet by email as Chance does not do this all of the time and was not doing it at the vet office, the doctor will assess that from there”.

9/16/17 – Chance Update: diana

“Chance update:
Chance is in pretty rough shape, she has been diagnosed with Feline hepatic lipidosis, a liver disease, which occurs when a cat stops eating which may have happened after her injuries or have been caused due to infection, she is also anemic. Good news is she has a 50/50 CHANCE at reversing the liver disease through daily medications and a special diet. She is still spunky, so everyone send them prayers that we can get her through this…. she’ll need a home when she does!! 😁 A HUGE thank you to 4 Paws 1 Heart got agreeing to continue treatment! – Cortney”

Sherrie in Alpena Needs Assistance with Her Rescued Cats

9/15/17 – 4 Paws 1 Heart funds medical treatment for abandoned, stray, and abused animals. I don’t know of any other organization that does this in Michigan. We help rescue organizations, shelters, and individuals who are independent rescuers. Sherrie has a cat rescue in Alpena, MI. Unfortunately, she has been targeted by a person who actually targeted 4p1h at one time. Not only is Sherrie trying to save cats and make sure they don’t reproduce, she is fighting the evil interference of people whose egos have been hurt. We have been trying to help Sherrie and have provided medical funding in the past. Currently, because our funds are low, we had to prioritize our assistance. At this time, we are helping with the serious medial needs of upper respiratory infections, a prolapsed uterus, and some other issues that arise from living on the streets. These babies are a few of them. ~ diana

Josie – RIP Sweet Mama and your Babies

9/14/17 – There have been so many losses this summer it has been heartbreaking for the rescuers and those of us trying to help. Here is another that I just posted the other day. This little baby named Hope lost three siblings and her mom, Josie, hasn’t had a temperature under 103 degrees in a week. Hope was to be taken to the veterinary today, but she died last night. RIP sweet beauty. We wish we could have done more. ~ dianajosie and baby 9:9:17

Finley – Found Emaciated on the Streets

9/14/17 – Please consider donating today when your donation will be matched. Unfortunately, the need for assistance has been great this year. It seems that for every one animal we help, five more come to our attention. This is Finley. She was found on the street at 3-4 years old, weighed only 3 lbs. Can you imagine what this poor animal has gone through??? She is very sweet but was so very emaciated the doctor could not even get enough blood to perform an fiv/felv test. She is currently on fluids and her rescuer will be working to ‘fatten’ her up and give her lots of love. ~ dianafinley 9:14:17
