Sebastian

10/7/13 – Good Morning 4 Paws 1 Heart Friends – Here’s a photo of our Sebastian after his amputation surgery of October 6, 2013.  Please continue to pray for his recovery. He will need a furever home when he is fully recovered. ~ diana

10/3/13 Updated Photo of Sebastian – This sweet boy will be having a big surgery to remove his badly injured leg on Saturday, October 5, 2013. Paws Crossed for a smooth recovery. Our doctors feel amputation is the only option here because the break is where the femur and pelvis meet. ~ gina

9/29/13 – Introducing Sebastian – Sebastian is an 8-week-old male kitten who has white socks, a white chin and a little bit of white on his chest. He was found as an injured stray and brought into the Emergency by a good Samaritan. Sebastian was probably hit by a car and has a broken femur and a little abrasion on his head. His little leg will require amputation. 4 Paws 1 Heart will take care of his medical bills until he is recovered. Any inquiries should be made to Gina at gina.4paws1heart@gmail.com~ diana

Good Morning, I’m Bob

October 2, 2013 – GOOD MORNING! Remember Me? I’m Bob, now living in my furever home after having stayed with Aunti Gina for a few months. Here I am waiting for my next meal. As I was doing nothing, I thought I would give you some UPDATES on my buddies:

The two little parvo puppies, rescued yesterday by our Warren Animal Control Officers, are still holding their own and our friends at A Hopeful Heart has offered to take in the pups when the vet releases them. We will keep everyone informed. They have also offered to help Lisa with family of kittens who required rescue. 4 Paws 1 Heart has committed to helping these pups get a second chance on a good life.

Also, our little Sargent continued to hold his own as of Tuesday night. Someone interested in giving him a furever home was to visit him last night but we haven’t heard anything yet from Auntie Gina.

Thank you to all of our supporters who have made a difference for me and my fur friends. ~ Bob

This is Sargent

9/29/13 – This is Sargent. He was brought into emergency last night. Sargent is a beautiful soft male all grey stray cat, between 1 and 1/2 and 2 years old, who was exposed to over-the-counter flea medication which caused him to have seizures and convulsions. He had to be sedated in order to stop the seizures. The only treatment is supportive care by giving him IV fluids around the clock and monitoring him closely. Please keep him in your prayers and If he pulls through this, we will need a rescue, foster or permanent home as soon as possible. Please contact Gina at gina.4paws1heart@gmail.com
10/1/13 – Updated pic of Sargent from last night.. He was curled in a little ball hugging my arm as I scratched his belly. He slightly opened his eyes and gave me a helpless little stare.. He was brought into emergency because he was exposed to dangerous flea medication. I wish that shit would be taken off the market! Frontline is in my opinion the safest.. His little body is so weak and tired from all the muscle convulsions and seizures that he still can not stand. Today is day 4 of hospitalization. Please SHARE:: Do not use Over- the-counter flea meds without checking with your vet first!!!! gina
♡♥♡♥
10/2/13 – Here he is after days of being lifeless. Sergeant was a stray exposed to over the counter flea meds. He is finally safe to go now that we have hospitalized him at the Animal Urgent Care. Saturday night he was brought in seizing and convulsing, last night he was being held by a potential mom. ~ gina
10/4/13Look who is doing GREAT and went to his new home tonight! Sargent became stronger day by day with hospitalization, and here he is tongiht happy as ever! Thank you Jamie for giving him a loving home:) Thank you to the staff at Animal Urgent Care and Harper Woods Veterinary Hospital, for taking care of this guy around the clock!!! ~ Gina

Meet Oreo

9/29/13 – Meet Oreo. He is about 2 – 3 years old and was seen being hit by a car two nights before. When Oreo arrived in the Emergency, he was in a fetal position, curled up because he could not stand or walk. Oreo also had maggot eggs on both sides of his face, and literally, was skin and bones. As of tonight, he is eating like a champ and is doing much better. Medical treatment continues at the Emergency; he will need a forever home, foster or rescue when he recovers. Contact Gina at gina.4paws1heart@gmail.com

10/2/13 – Here is Oreo slowly mending after being hit by a car several nights ago. I truly think he would have died in the street from shock if the nice caring people who saw him just left him there. A friend of 4P1H will be fostering Oreo very soon until a rescue is available or we can find him a home. We estimate Oreo to b about 4 yr old, he is fixed, and friendly with other cats. He doesn’t mind small dogs either. If anyone is interested in adopting this sweetheart or if there is a rescue who can help place him, please contact me at gina.4paws1heart@gmail.com

Phoenix was Rescued

9/24/13 – 4 Paws 1 Heart is so grateful to our caring rescue friends who help us in placing animals we have helped with medical bills. One of these animals is Phoenix. Phoenix was rescued from a home who kept ‘rescuing’ cats although the person had very limited income and room. Of the kittens taken from the ‘rescuer’, a number of them came down with Panleuk. Not everyone made it, but those who did survive are doing well and some have been adopted. Although we helped, Tigerlily spent many dollars in helping these babies through this deadly illness which is likened to the Parvo virus with puppies. This is Phoenix who continues to require medical assistance; he is just not thriving as we would help. Thank You to Tigerlily for always being there for our kitties and us. I’m thankful that we are able to again send a few dollars to your vet to help with Phoenix’s high medical bills. Please pray for Phoenix and make sure you check out their fb page. ~ diana

Bob Update

9/23/13 BOB UPDATE: Gina took in Bob when a good Samaritan found him wandering alone on the streets. He was only 11 weeks old and the sweetest little guy. He was covered with parasites and was very weak. Gina fell in love with him and fostered him for a couple of months. Today he is in his new home with this very kind young man and his family who will give him give and receive unconditional love. ~ diana

Calvin Is now Adopted!

9/22/13 – Update on Calvin; our little kitten that was found with his brother in a car motor.. Thank you to the wonderful family who opened their hearts and home:) ~ Gina This is Calvin..we adopted him from Moore Veterinary today. They told me he was rescued by your group after being found with his brother under a car motor in Detroit. I’m sorry we couldn’t take his brother also. But wanted to thank you for saving them. Calvin is very sweet and cuddly.

Meet Cotton

9/21/13 – Meet Cotton… He was found by a “4P1H” friend the other night who saw him on the streets late at night. He was lost, hungry, and eager for love. Our friend is going to foster him and if an owner isn’t found then he will be needing a forever home. Gina

STRAY CAT BEING EATEN ALIVE BY MAGGOTS.

9/20/13 – STRAY CAT BEING EATEN ALIVE BY MAGGOTS. Please think about the next time you let your cat outdoors. This was an owned cat that was found by two good Samaritans in Harrison Township who were horrified when they heard the cries.. Not only was he being eaten alive with maggots, but he had a broken leg, broken jaw, and he was walking around with his eye popped out and ruptured for at least a week!!!! 4 Paws 1 heart was willing to pay for whatever treatment necessary, but despite all efforts from our veterinarian and emergency staff it was just to late. He didn’t make it.. Can anyone tell me WHY this isn’t totally preventable?!?! I know it’s very sick, but this is reality and If I don’t show you then you won’t know the dangers that exist. On behalf of veterinary staff everywhere, we don’t enjoy seeing the suffereing either, but it’s our job to educate..  Gina
