Stray Pup Found Nearly Starved To Death (Autumn)

Our Board Member, Sasha’s, Snookie and Gina’s Angel showing a new 4 paws 1 heart pup, Autumn, that not every human is going to starve and abandon her. diana

UPDATE: Autumn is doing great! She looks just like my Angel on the left! Very Tempting, but at my limit:( Autumn is in a foster home getting lots and lots of love!! Thank you for all your shares and please let the others know if you shared her story..~gina

This starved little girl is being delivered to me in the morning. She was found terrified and emaciated. Our group “4 paws 1 heart” will take care of her medical needs and ensure she is healthy before going into a foster home.

Stray Pup Found Nearly Starved To Death: “Autumn” who is now with “4 Paws 1 Heart” will be placed once we have her medical needs taken care of. We have a few potential foster homes and we will keep you all posted on our facebook site. Thank you all for sharing and caring!! Gina

Medical Dollars to Loveabull Paws Rescue

And, last but not least, our very good friends at Loveabull Paws Rescue have been with us since our beginning and have always been there to help us with a dog brought into the Animal Urgent and Critical Care Center, sick and emaciated. They are tireless in their efforts and we’re so grateful that we are able to send some medical dollars their way. May God Bless Them and all of their lucky rescues. ~ diana

Emaciated Destiny and her 11 pups were rescued this week. Mama doesn’t have enough milk to feed all 11 babies because she’s so so skinny. We are supplementing them between feedings and so far all seem to be doing well. Please keep this sweet mama and her babies in your thoughts as they continue their journey to recovery! More pics will be posted soon.

Medical Dollars to Dog Aide 2012

I’ve shared the amazing work of Dog Aide 2012 – Community Awareness many, many times. They not only rescue but they work with owners to educate and feed. We are thankful for their willingness to always be there for a stranded/neglected animal and we are pleased to send some medical dollars their way. Thanks, Ladies of Dog Aide. ~ diana

“Hi, Friends! It’s me, Buddy. I am blurry because my tail has a lot of happy. I am feeling so much better today. At first I didn’t like all the pokes, but now I only get the subQs pokes. They aren’t so bad. Awesome Lady made me a nest of comfy blankets and we snuggle after the poke. So I don’t mind that. But so many pills! Yuck. My tummy stopped hurting, though, so I guess the medicine is working. I even wanted dinner! Awesome Lady gave me little dinners. It’s like having three dinners in one night! Pretty neat. I have my own bowl. It’s blue. Auntie Mel S stopped by to visit and we snuggled in my nest and I showed her my bowl. She said Dog Aide friends are working hard to get me healthy. She said snuggling with Awesome Lady and let the medicine do its job. So I’m going to do that ♥, Buddy”

Olive Update

OLIVE Update: Many of you might remember our little Olive. She was surrendered by her owner in March, 2012 at about 2-3 years old. We didn’t know her history, but we knew that she needed a loving home. Gina fostered Olive until June. After Hercules entered our lives in May, 2012, Gina couldn’t give both Olive and Hercules the attention they needed. Fortunately, our friend, Carrie Krausmann, Lil’ Dogs Resort, offered to foster her. It was there that Olive met the people who would become her forever family. Here’s a photo of her in her halloween outfit. ~ diana

Isabelle (a.k.a.Bernice)

Update Isabelle (formerly known as Bernice); from our very good friends at NBS Animal Rescue. ~ diana

“Hi there!! My name is Isabelle, but my friends call me Izzy. I’m a 3-4 year old female Pekingese but I really look like a pug/pomeranian  mix, or so everyone keeps telling me!

I came from a pretty scary place where my previous owners fed me ribs and it got lodged in my throat sideways and I was unable to eat, drink, or to go to the bathroom for three whole days before they sought out medical attention. I was in really rough shape: I was covered in fleas, had really bad skin, balding hair along my back, over grown toenails, matted fur, and of course – a bone stuck in my throat! After my owners signed me over to the fantastic 4 Paws 1 Heart Organization they contacted my foster parents at NBS Animal Rescue and here I am! I was on IV fluids, pain medication, and had to get a lot of TLC before I pulled through and am the happy little girl that I am today. I visited the veterinarian and got spayed, received my vaccines, got a bath, had my fleas removed, visited a great groomer named Liz at Bingo Pet Salon for a full groom and voila! Here I am – a happy go lucky little 8 lb female who is loving life at her foster family!

I’m a sweet little girl who loves to go for walks and car rides, I’m potty trained, good with other dogs, I’m pretty good at meeting strangers – especially if they have a tasty treat! Kids are OK with me as long as they are 7+ because I”m so small they might accidentally hurt me while we’re playing. I haven’t met a cat yet, but my foster mom says that she thinks I’d be just fine with kitty cats as long as someone introduced me to them properly.

If you think that I might be the perfect addition to your family, please contact the awesome volunteers at N.B.S. Animal Rescue at nbsanimalrescue@gmail.com for any additional information or answers to any questions you might have. You can fill out a simple online adoption application at www.nbsanimalrescue.com and we will start processing your application right away! We do require that persons interested in meeting me apply online and be approved as an adopter first so please visit our website and submit your application today!”

In Memory of Blake

BLAKE: I am brokenhearted to report that our little Blake did not make it. Gina thought she was turning the corner and had a lot of hope. Unfortunately, she died in Gina’s arms. The staff of the Animal Urgent and Critical Care Center did everything possible to save this little sweetheart and gave her lots of love and medical care while she was in the hospital. The person responsible for her just waited too long to get her treatment. There are so many cases of Parvo going on right now. Gina and I are working on a way to get the message out there about the symptoms and dangers. May this little beauty rest in peace and finally be enjoying the life of a puppy with all of the babies who have gone before her. ~ diana

PRAYERS NEEDED; Blake is a female, mixed breed, 12 week old puppy who needs your prayers!! She has Parvo Virus and she is currently hospitalized while 4 paws 1 heart pays for her medical treatment. Blake is just hanging on. We are doing everything that can be done for her, but it’s a nasty virus that leaves an unpredictable and, much too often, grave prognosis.

Charm a.k.a Olivia

UPDATE: Charm — now known as Olivia — was brought to the attention of 4P1H last November, 2011 when she was just 11 weeks old. Her leg was broken in so many places it had to be amputated. Just a short while after her surgery, Gina brought her over and I couldn’t believe how well she was doing. She was adopted not long afterward by a wonderful woman who has given Olivia a loving and caring home. Here are current photos of this little beauty.

Three Puppies in Critical Condition

These three puppies were surrendered to 4 Paws 1 Heart. The mom passed away after giving birth to 7 puppies.  Four of the puppies were dead upon birth and the three remaining puppies are being cared for by Gina.  They were six days old, two females, and one male, when they were surrendered.   The puppies are a Pekingese, Shih tzu, and Poodle mix. They are in the critical stage, plus they have a staff infection, and only time will tell if they make it.  They will not eat from a bottle so they must be tube fed.  They are also on antibiotics.
