Ivy, 7 week old Kitten

11/11/12 IVY UPDATE: Ivy is a trooper. She is hanging in there while being treated with ear mites, fleas, coccidia, roundworms, and an eye infection. We are doing everything we possibly can for her. She still has a slight abnormality to her eyes
but she is totally functional. She is about 7 weeks old, with long hair, flame point, and is super loving. She loves to talk, be held, and follow you everywhere. I’ll send another update in a few days once we give her more time to be hospitalized. ~ gina

This is IVY. She is about 7 weeks old, female, and long haired. This little kitten was seen in the middle of the street a couple of nights ago when a woman almost hit her. She brought her into the emergency vet and the rescuer signed her over to 4 Paws 1 Heart. Ivy is currently hospitalized for dehydration, undernourishment, and severe parasitism. Any rescues or adopters who would like to take in Ivy should contact gina at [email protected]

Babe Needs Knee Surgery

Babe was rescued needing ACL knee surgery and her rescuer couldn’t afford to have it done because of a recent string of bad luck resulting in financial hardship. 4 Paws 1 Heart was able to help him raise some money and then helped with the remaining bill. Dr. Balaj, did her surgery yesterday, and she is doing very well. She will go home today and recover over the next couple months. ACL surgery commonly happens to dogs and there are not many orthopedic surgeons in the area, so if you know someone who has a dog needing this procedure have them call the Harper Woods Veterinary Hospital. Dr. Balaj is very reasonable in price and very good at what he does! ~ gina

Charlottes Two Stray Cats

A facebook friend, Charlotte Yakima, rescued two stray cats from an area by the McNamara International Airport. They were seen with a feral community but appeared to be more domestic than feral and were being bullied by the ferals.   Charlotte and 4 Paws 1 Heart paid for the neutering/spaying, vaccinations, and testing and now these sweethearts need a permanent home.  Please share an help Charlotte find them a home.  Otherwise, Charlotte will follow the protocol she learned at All About Animals Rescue and place the cats outside to live as feral cats.  The female is a light grey and peach on face and body; her tail is a little darker and ringed like raccoon. The black male is approximately 3 years old.
