Momma Kat and Kry Baby – Found Living Amongst Community Cats

4/27/17 – There are so many amazing people in our community. One such person is a volunteer for when of our favorite rescues, Tigerlily Cat Rescue. During her Spring break, she and another friend trapped/neutered/returned 22 cats. As many who have been involved in major TNR projects or who have cared for Community Cats know, very often domestic cats and kittens are found in the process. In those cases, attempts are made to find rescues who will take in the domesticated cats/kittens. Thankfully, All About Animals, is running a campaign now where all cats trapped by individuals will be neutered/spayed and receive a vaccination for free. 4 Paws 1 Heart has been asked to cover the costs of any additional medical required, such as a distemper vaccine, treatment for upper respiratory infections, flea/parasite treatment, etc. We are always happy to partner with anyone committed to reducing the number of unwanted animals. This is Momma Kat and Kry Baby. ~ diana

Roxy and Lucy – Rescued from an Abusive Household

4/26/17 – Roxy and Lucky and three cats were rescued from an abusive household. The owner had left behind her pets when she decided to leave home. When one of the cats was being neutered, a rubber band was found around one testicle. Roxy and Lucky were very thin, had long nails, and were dirty. They have since been seen by a veterinarian and have received their vaccines and both were heart worm tested. I am thrilled to report they were both negative. They will both be spayed/neutered this week. The cats are being taken in by our good friends, Ferndale Cat Shelter. ~ dianaRoxy: wkelly hook 4:24:17Lucky w:kelly hook 4:24:17roxy and lucky 4:21:17

Penny – Found Living in a Garage with Another Cat Who Had to be Euthanized

This is Penny. She was caught along with another cat, Teddy, she had been living with in a garage. As you may have seen from the 4 Paws 1 Heart posts, Teddy, who looked just like Penny, had to be humanely euthanized because he was so severely ill from an upper respiratory infection and then was found to have feline leukemia. Penny was also brought to the vet, withe the help of 4 Paws 1 Heart and a very kind rescuer, Kelly Hook, and Penny was found with feline leukemia. After having the experience of being with Teddy while he was humanely euthanized, Kelly just didn’t have the heart to humanely euthanize Penny because she has leukemia; she did not have any other issues as did Teddy. Now Kelly is looking for a loving home for this shy girl who needs to be an only cat or in a family with other cats with leukemia. If you can help, please contact Kelly Hook at [email protected] ~ diana

Mickey – Heart Worm Treatment is Over – Next Stop – A Forever Home

4/21/17 – Mickey was found near a local cemetery on a cold January day drinking water from a puddle. Fortunately, a good samaritan rescued him but could not find his owner. She contacted 4 Paws 1 Heart and Mickey was taken to a vet. It was thought he had cherry eye. What he had, was Entropion of the eye which required surgery. He was also found to be heart worm positive. Today he goes to the vet to get his last treatment and then he will be able to be neutered and on his way to finding his forever home. Here he is in the back seat looking over his foster brother. Everyone at Five Mile Animal Hospital has fallen in love with this very sweet boy.mickey 4:21:17mickey january, 2017
