In Memory of Little Maggie

Little Maggie was one of the Trailer Park Kitties and was being fostered by a local rescue group.  She was a little girl and never caught up to size and stamina of her sister.  She was unable to keep food in her system and due to all the efforts of many who tried to make this little angel pull through, Maggie just couldn’t thrive on her own and has passed over to the Rainbow Bridge. RIP Little Maggie ! ♥♥♥

She was very loved while she was here on earth and will be missed.

R.I.P. Pablo

Pablo was a 6 week old puppy who was very sick probably since birth.  The family who rescued him had him for less than a day when they noticed something was very serious.  They also rescued two other pups from this home to try and save them from being taken to the shelter.  We offered them to sign Pablo over because of his serious condition.  4 paws 1 heart tried to treat, but we chose to humanely euthanize him when he continued to decline throughout the evening.  It’s what was best.  The doctor thinks he may have been born with a liver shunt.

Tiger May You Rest in Peace

4 Paws 1 Heart received an emergency notification about a cat she had seen while doing TNR.  She had seen the cat a couple of times and his health seemed to be worsening.  The person who had been feeding the cat refused to let her take in the animal although he was visibly sick.  The TNR person said the cat’s mouth had a terrible odor and he wasn’t eating.  She finally got the ‘caretaker’ to agree to let her take him into the clinic and 4 paws agreed to help. Upon examination,  it was discovered that Tiger had infected tumors in his mouth, he was very dehydrated, and he tested positive for FIV.  He was humanely euthanized.

We are thankful to this very caring woman who worked so hard to minimize this poor baby’s suffering by convincing the caretaker to give him up and by contacting 4 Paws 1 Heart for help.

R.I.P. – Baby Girl

Baby Girl was a Boxer that was hit by a car in Roseville last week.  She had a broken back.  A  resident brought her into the clinic because the police wouldn’t. We gave her a pain injection, did x rays which confirmed a severed spine, and we euthanized her.  The owner paid for a private cremation for her remains.  May God Bless the good Samaritan who brought in this poor little one.

A word for all pet owners – please watch your pets.  Do not let them out unless you are sure your gate is locked (you never know when a meter reader, or your child, or whomever, may have left it open.  Make sure you do not have escape ‘areas’ in your yard.  You are responsible for your loved ones; they rely on you.

p.s. In deference to the owner, we have not posted a photo of this lost little one.

R.I.P. Black Little Pup

Pup with broken pelvis, broken femur, emaciated, and damage to both front leg’s, from being so severely malnourished. He was placed in a box and dumped in our parking lot tonight. Based on his injuries and quality of life we decided to do the humane thing and euthanize. Thank God our midnight technician saw him, or things could have been much worse. At least we were able to alleviate his suffering…this is the sad reality of working in this field. It is important that people know that this cruelty, neglect, and abuse exists. It’s everywhere, so please pay attention to your surroundings and report to authorities when you suspect it happening. ~ Gina
