8/14/17 – Sneezy was rescued during a trap/neuter/return effort. He had an upper respiratory infection and fleas. He is a sweet kitten and 4 Paws 1 Heart is happy that we can be there for these animals who are born in the wild but not necessarily able to survive in it. Stars and Stripes – Found in a Yard Where 4 Kittens Later Died
9/6/17 – Update: Stars and Stripes were ‘victims’ of foster failures. They have been officially adopted by their foster parents.
8/11/17 – To say this has been one heck of a summer would be an understatement! Almost 7 years of spay/neuter (and that is just our one organization) and yet the kittens continue to keep coming out of every nook and cranny. And, not only, being seen, but being very sick with upper respiratory infections and with serious injuries. These two, Star and Stripes, were two of 8 kittens found in one yard. Unfortunately, four of the kittens, who were very young, did not survive. Two of the older kittens (Jodie and Josie) are surviving beautifully with our friend Patricia B. and have had their blood tested. Now, the last (?) two have been rescued. One of the kittens may be related to Jodie and because they were found in the same yard, they had their blood tested and all was negative. Star and Stripes are doing well and are looking for a rescue organization/foster or adopters. They are shy but are safe and living with their rescuer Christine. All medical has been taken care of by 4 Paws 1 Heart. Anyone who would like to foster/adopt Star and Stripes should contact: [email protected]
Kitten Found Unable to Walk
8/13/17 – 
So many of us have had the worst weekends this summer. It started again yesterday with a little emaciated, infected kitten rescued about 1 in the morning. He was treated at the emergency hospital and he is holding his own with his rescuer caring for him. Unfortunately, Lucky was totally different. After blood work it was determined that Lucky’s white blood cell count was almost non-existent. Prior to that he barely moved and couldn’t stand. The doctor believes he may have eaten poison. While on the table he started seizing uncontrollably and was humanely euthanized. RIP sweet Lucky. Thank you Kelly Hook for a heart bigger than Texas. – Diana
Felix – Found With What Appeared to Be One Eye
8/13/17 – We were contacted about this “one-eyed kitty” who turned up at a family’s home. The eye was bulging and it was obvious that he needed immediate help. As I am so thankful to say, we sent the family and the kitty (now known as Felix) to Parker Veterinary. Fortunately, it was determined that the eye could be saved and now Felix is a member of a very loving family. ~ diana

Felix did not lose his eye, is doing great and has become great buddies with Hamish, the bottle baby I transported to them in August 2015!! Fritz, Juno, and Turk – Found Under a Bush During a TNR Project
8/12/17 – Meet the Bush Babies. Another litter from the house our Board member, Dee, was TNRing at. They were hanging out in a bush. There is one more baby to trap… but these babies have been there a week today and are socializing beautifully. There were a couple of rough days but now they are doing great. Introducing Fritz, Juno & Turk. ( left to right) … again 4 Paws 1 Heart, once again, was there providing medical treatment for them. Get in line people they are up for adoption!! ~ diana
Coda – Rescued from the Streets; Tested Heart Worm Positive

8/13/17 – I know I’ve already said this, but the overwhelming need continues. This is Coda. He was rescued from the street in July. We approved having him neutered, vaccinated, and tested. Unfortunately, it turns out that he is positive for heart worm. We will pay for the heart worm treatment but it is always a dilemma as to whether a heart worm positive dog should be spayed/neutered until he/she is heart worm free. Anyone familiar with dogs understands that behavior is very different when an animal is intact and finding a foster/rescue for an intact animal can be very difficult. Coda’s rescuer decided to have Coda neutered and he is doing well. Coda will start the 30-day pre-heart worm treatment. Anyone interested in Coda should contact [email protected] . ~ diana
Maui, Muana, and Penelope – Kittens Found in a Cat Community
8/12/17 – 4 Paws 1 Heart has been assisting a caring 80+ year old who has been caring for a cat community for many, many years. As hard as she has tried, every so often a kitten will show up. Knowing she will take care of the cats, many people in the neighborhood, will also ‘dump’ their cats at her home. We have helped this wonderful woman with donated food and, of course, medical treatment which always includes spay/neuter. Maui, Muana, and Penelope are three of such babies recently discovered and placed with our friend, Patricia B. Anyone interested in adopting these sweeties, should contact: [email protected]

Hank – Rescued from a Heat Treating Plant
8/10/17 – This little sweetie found his way into a heat-treating plant. The employees were feeding him but the temperatures in the plant could exceed 100 degrees. One of the employees contacted his sister for help. She took the kitten to a vet for a quick check up and brought him home but couldn’t keep him — that is when she contacted us. Of course, we couldn’t do much with placement, but we could offer medical assistance; it also sounded like the poor little guy had a botfly burrowed in him. Long story short – sure enough there was a botfly who started to come out before he could get to the vet. The caretaker was able to pull out the botfly and once again get the kitten’s would cleaned out. After going through all of this, the family who said they couldn’t keep him, fell in love and it looks like Hank has found his forever home. 4p1h will be taking care of vaccines, neutering, testing, and making sure his botfly wound is healing. Lucky – Lost a Family Twice
8/9/17 – Meet Lucky who was an owner surrender. He was rescued in December but now the family can no longer care for him. He is only 8 months old! 4p1h will take care of his medical including neutering and, we pray, he will soon find his way into a loving home. He is very friendly and loves to be loved.
