1/13/15 – Remember Soup? He was found as a stray 1year ago with his head stuck in a soup can? The shaved area on his hind end was because another animal crushed his pelvis. Unable to defend himself, he cried and crawled until someone heard him and contacted us for help. I took him home to recover from his shattered pelvis (12 weeks to officially heal), and this December made one year fostering him. Longest foster ever in my home. I’m very happy to report that Soup will be going to his forever home this Friday. I will miss him dearly, but this family is wonderful for him! They are perfect, he is 
perfect, and he will get the love and attention he deserves. We are so blessed to have given him a 2nd chance especially after being found on the street unable to walk. Gina

Dozer The Polydactyl
1/10/15 – Another life saved by our friends. This is Dozer who was vetted and vaccinated compliments of 4 Paws 1 Heart. Dozer may be adopted by his foster mom or be taken in by a rescue. Nonetheless, he is healthy, save, and much loved. I couldn’t help but smile looking at those paws; they look like the State of Michigan. lol Thanks, Roberta K. Christmas Bottle Babies – Rudolph, Kringle, Jingle, and Noel
1/10/15 – Sad Update from our friend Amanda about her bottle babies who we have committed to helping them find their forever homes when they were ready. ~ diana
“This was a tough week in the Morris nursery. We lost both Rudolph and Kringle to the rainbow bridge. They both failed to thrive and passed pretty quickly. However Noel and Jingle are both doing really well. Their eyes are open and they are starting to explore and snuggle. They purr like crazy and anyone who has heard a neonate purr knows it’s one of the best sounds ever invented. These two seem very strong so I’m hoping we’re through with the scary parts of raising bottle babies. – Amanda”
Buddy – Happy Update
1/10/15 Happy Update: The sweet baby who, according to neighbors had been roaming the streets for awhile, and who was saved Thursday night by Samantha and Jennifer during one of the coldest and snowiest we’ve had, is living large in Jennifer’s cozy home. He has been sleeping a lot and is scheduled to see the vet this afternoon. My heart swells with happiness knowing another life has been saved because of the kindness of others. Good Luck, little guy. Hopefully there is nothing wrong other than the life you spent on the streets.~ diana
1/10/15 Another Update on our Port Huron Baby – His name is now Buddy!! Buddy went to the vet this afternoon and other than a slight issue with his ears, he appears to be healthy. After he has come through the trauma of living on the streets and braving this animal- killing weather, he will be neutered. I know that Jennifer will keep us updated on this handsome guy. ~ diana
Ringo (with Mutts of Motown) – Given Up With Months Old Multiple Breaks
1/9/15 – We told our all of our fb friends about Ringo, rescued by Mutts of Motown who could hardly afford another difficult medical case. Ringo was left to suffer for an unknown number of months with several breaks in his leg. 4 Paws 1 Heart will be helping with Ringo’s surgery costs. Here is an update from our friends. “Today is Ringo’s amputation surgery. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers. We will be calling near the end of the day to see how he is and how his surgery went. Buddy – Walking the Streets in Sub Zero Temperatures
I advised Samantha of the following but as of 8 hours ago, he is still on her porch crying. I have no contacts in the Port Huron area. If anyone can help, please contact Samantha. ~ diana
“Samantha Venette has contacted us about a cat who has been living on her porch who appears to be in danger of freezing. She said she made a small shelter but I doubt it is ample, she has female kittens and is afraid to bring him in. I asked her to bring in the cat and keep him in a bathroom or somewhere for now while I can try to get help. I also told her to bring the cat into the Humane Society of St. Clair but it appears she has done none of this and just says the cat is crying and that he’ll die soon. She is in the south end of Port Huron. I don’t know anyone in the area that can provide quick assistance. Her number is 810-841-4277 and if there is anything you can do, a life may be saved 4 Paws 1 Heart will help with vetting. ” ~ diana
1/8/15 Update: Update: a wonderful person has already contacted Samantha and will be bringing him in for the night. A rescue has offered to help. We’ll all be working together. Thank you everyone. I’ll keep you posted. – Diana
1/9/15 – Good Morning Happy News!! Again, thank you Samantha for contacting us and an extra big thank you to Jennifer for driving from Royal Oak to Port Huron on a cold and snowy night to save a cat from freezing. He is safe, warm, sweet and in need of a clean up. He will be taken to a veterinary today to be vetted and checked for a microchip, For the Love of Louie will also be checked to make sure he wasn’t reported lost. In the meantime, Jennifer will continue to give him love, food, and most importantly shelter. Thank You everyone who shared and helped in this effort. Please, please get involved if you see an animal outside and unprotected. ~ diana
Hypothermia Victim of 2015 – Update
1/8/15 – The Beagle that was brought in suffering from Hypothermia has not been claimed yet. If an owner isn’t found we do have an awesome rescue group taking over his care/placement. Elvis – Has Not Left The Building — He is Still Looking for His Forever Home
“Sweet, playful, talkative. Loves his Temptations treats, feather duster toy and his catnip cigar. Does have fear issues re: other cats. May be ok with one or two others. Foster mom is working on getting him adjusted. Estimated to be 4-5, but foster mom thinks he is younger than that.

Lucy – Abandoned with an Infected Leg
1/7/15 Meet Lucy – She showed up in a family’s garage, limping and unable to use a her leg. She is very sweet and, thankfully, she picked the right garage. The good people who live there were willing to bring her in to Gina to be examined by the great doctors. She was found to have a deformed leg which would need to be amputated to avoid future pain and better enable her to get around. The family has decided to keep her. Please consider making a donation to help with her medical bills. The rescuers are willing to work with us on the medical bill but all of us who have had medical issues with our pets, know the cost of such surgeries can be very hight.
