The Shih Tzu Five – Left Alone at One Week Old
1/15/16 –
A full tummy, a warm bath, and new outfits = 5 cozy happy sleepy babies.. They are now just over 5 weeks old. All are doing very well. This weekend I’m printing out all applications, and reviewing them. Now is the time to get your application in if you haven’t already. Mandy & Miles – Munchkins Abandoned and Still Looking For Their Forever Home
1/14/16 – 
Meet Mandy and Miles. They were dropped off on the porch of a friend who has been following 4 Paws 1 Heart for a while. These little beauties have been vetted and tested and being treated for a mild upper respiratory infection. They will be spayed/neutered when appropriate. They have short, little legs and, thankfully, because of Lisa, they are safe and sheltered. Anyone interested in adopting these sweeties should contact Lisa at [email protected]
Bootsie and Cutie – Living a Life in the Cruel Outdoors – Now Forever Saved
1/13/16 – Meet Bootsie and Cutie. Kathy B. had contacted us originally about a ‘feral’ cat, Cutie, and then about a ‘feral’ cat (Bootsie) with an injured leg. She needed help in catching the little guy. Well, it took a little while but Bootsie was finally caught and, like so many, he isn’t really feral — just another dumped or lost animal who has had to fend for himself. Bootsie was taken to the vet who found that his leg injury was an old one that couldn’t be addressed but otherwise Bootsie is healthy. In the process of capturing Bootsie, another kitten was found, Fluffy, and now she has been taken to the vet. We will be getting more information and a photo on Fluffy.~ diana

I have never been more excited to help rescue and make a difference in our fur babies lives!! Cutie was the first kitten I rescued and she is happy and healthy in a home where she is treated like a princess. Bootsie is the second rescue and she’s very gentle and loving. She will be living with me and my family. I’m making great progress socializing her. The third rescue I call Fluffy and we will try to socialize her as well after she has been spayed. Fingers crossed that she can also have a furever home!!

Working Together to Save A Dog From Certain Death
1/12/16 – This very sweet girl was locked up for over 5 months at the veterinary facility that Eastpointe, MI and Roseville, MI contracts with for their ‘animal control’. Sterling Heights, MI had contracted with them also but I’m not sure of what that City is doing today. The fact that the facility charges between $150 – $210 for a rescue to pull the animals might have something to do with why animals are in a cage for so long. And though you would think their charges are based on their medical expenses, I’ve been advised that many of the animal’s basic medical needs are not taken care of. Our good friend of Hopeful Heart Rescue brought the situation to our attention and our other good friends at Bully’s Angels jumped in and rescued this sweet girl. We are happy to send medical dollars to assist Bully’s Angels as they attempt to rescue a couple of other long-term animals. Butch – The Rottie Who Was Found Hit By A Car – Update

I would like to send a huge thank you to Dr. Ryan Warnnemuende and his staff at “Jensens Animal in Petoskey Michigan”, for providing top of the line care to Butch.
Butch, a 5 month old Rottweiler, was hit by a car over the weekend. We were contacted and offered to help financially. Butch was surrendered and orthopedic surgery was scheduled.
His surgery was yesterday and it went very well. Butch had 3 fractures, crushed bone, and he now has a plate and some screws, but he is expected to have a good prognosis. Dr. Ryan also neutered and vaccinated Butch!
Dr. Graves will be fostering Butch during his recovery and once permanent placement is found Butch will start the next chapter of his journey. Thank you to everyone involved!!!!! Gina
One-Eyed Jack – Found Alone With One Eye Missing – Finds His Forever Family
1/12/16 – Last week we received the following message. Of course when it comes to helping an animal become a loving family member and making sure they don’t contribute to overpopulation, we are there!! This little one-eyed guy (Jack) will never have to fight for food and shelter again. Today, he will be seen by a veterinarian, complements of 4 Paws 1 Heart. ~ diana
“Hi 4 paws, love you all for what you do!! I have come upon a situation with a cat that was dumped off by a local woman’s home. She has to find a home for this guy, he appears healthy, but has only 1 eye and has never been to a vet. People have been dumping animals by her because she takes them in, she currently has more than she can handle and can’t keep him. I would love to foster him or even keep him, but don’t want to bring him into our home as we have 2 cats that I wouldn’t want to expose to the unknown, worms, fiv ,felv etc.. And he was dumped so most likely he has never had shots. Would 4 paws be able to help? I would hate for him to be put out as she is on overload herself. Thank you and I’m including his picture so you can see that it is love at first sight”
Butch – A very sweet Rottweiler Hit By A Car
1/11/16 – Positive thoughts and donations are needed for this handsome Rottie that was hit by a car on Saturday night. He was transported to a hospital for orthopedic surgery to repair the 3 fractures in his front left leg. Unfortunately, we will not be getting a rescue discount from this vet, but this is our mission….giving animals a 2nd chance. Dr. Graves is the one who stepped up to help this boy, and she will be fostering him until permanent placement is found. His bill is $1500.00 and if you would like to make a donation towards his care we would appreciate it. Thank you, Gina. **

Karma – Now With our Rescue Friends, Tigerlily Cat Rescue
1/11/16 – Karma Update — The first doctor he was taken to recommended his eye be removed. After getting other opinions, it was determined that Karma has herpes of the eye and would just require eye drops on a regular basis — very similar to one of our earlier loves, Snickers. Our 4p1h friend, Andrea Hoyumpa, who is with Tigerlily, offered to take him in and look at how good he is doing. ~ diana
Bruno – Update
1/11/16 – 
Bruno Update: Early Saturday morning this baby scared me to death because he vomited several times and became weak. I took him to the Animal Urgent care where radiographs were done which showed a large amount of gas and his intestinal area was very dialated. We started an IV medication to help stop the vomiting and some fluids. He responded fairly well to that. I went back 4 hours later to repeat an x ray and the gas was moving which was a good sign. Throughout the night Bruno had terrible smelling greenish sticky diarrhea. He ate a tiny amount, but still weak and definitely not the Bruno I know. My gut told me to get more aggressive because time is not on your side when a one month old puppy is sick..they fade incredibly fast… This morning I headed back to the hospital for more aggressive treatment. Now this little guy is back to himself with no vomiting and acceptable looking poop. I’m confident he is going to be fine smile emoticon Thank you all for the prayers and positive thoughts♡ Gina
